Leading Change In Public Agencies: Cases From Developing Countries
Managers and management trainers are using case studies more and more. Managers like the change, to improve thier performance by studying real-life management problems, while management trainers appreciate the way case studies bring theoretical concerns to life. Collections of case studies from western countries have been avaiable for many years, and recently added on are collections that focus on developing countries. Most of them, however, focus on the private sector. Without denying the many similarities that exist between managing in the public and private sectors, managing public agencies presents distinctive problems that require distinctive solutions. It is in this context that we offer our collection of case studies drawn from the Asean Resourse Centre for Case Studies, kept at the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), Malaysia
