INTAN CRITICAL REVIEW
As public sector leaders prepare themselves for change amidst an increasingly
complex operating environment, it is crucial for them to demonstrate a high level
of critical thinking to resolve issues and problems of the people. Therefore, they
may draw upon the valuable lessons illustrated by the various reviews in the INTAN
Critical Review. This inaugural edition is a compilation of selected critical reviews
by participants of the ALMP in 2013 and 2014 which encapsulates the wide array
of topics relevant to current development and issues. I hope that the readers will
benefit immensely from the insights and thought-provoking views of the authors in
this publication.
I believe that the articles in the INTAN Critical Review will motivate readers to
develop critical thinking and encourage practices that apply critical thinking skills
in leadership. Leading critically is demanded from the civil service but what is more
important is translating them into actions in their daily problem solving and decision
making processes.
