Stengthening Public Service Delivery: Forging Ahead Together
The Ninth Civil Service Conference chose as its theme, a topic closely related to an earlier conference held in 2003, but with a focus on more critical and collaborative efforts needed to strengthen public service delivery. The public service is emerging on a spirit of ‘walking the extra mile’ for the sake of the customers to earn the reputation of ‘achieving measurable outcomes’ in the delivery services. Whilst the Civil Service moves ahead with greater urgency to improve the nation’s competitiveness, it must at all costs try to unshackle the negative aspects that linger within it. This publication should prove to be beneficial to those seeking to improve the performance of the Civil Service to meet the rising expectations of the Malaysian citizenry, namely, to deliver effective and efficient service to the customers and stakeholders.
